DeepBot runs on your computer and keeps your work there. We do not receive your conversations, your files or what your Bots do. This page says exactly what we do receive, and why.
Who we are
DeepBot ("we", "us") makes the DeepBot program, its app catalogue and this website, deepbot.studio. For anything about your data, use our contact form.
What we collect
When you use DeepBot
Nothing. DeepBot keeps everything it works with on your computer: conversations, the Bots' memory and files, the keys and passwords you save in it (encrypted) and its settings. It has no analytics, no tracking and no crash reports, and it does not tell us how you use it. The one thing we count is its update check, described under Updates below: a number per day, with nothing that identifies you or your computer. Uninstalling DeepBot and deleting its data folder removes it all.
When you download DeepBot
We count downloads as a number per day, with nothing about who downloaded. The installer itself comes from GitHub, which counts downloads of its files too.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, subject and message, so we can answer. The website sends them to our mailbox and deletes its own copy as soon as the email is delivered. To limit spam it keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for an hour, never the address itself.
When you publish apps
If you sign in with GitHub to publish apps: your GitHub id, user name, display name and picture. The apps you publish, and the name on them, are public in the catalogue.
Cookies
Only the ones the website needs: one keeps you signed in, one protects forms from being sent by other sites. No advertising or analytics cookies.
What DeepBot sends, and to whom
DeepBot connects to other services only to do what you ask:
- The AI model you choose. Your messages and what a Bot needs to answer them go to that provider, with your own account and key, under their privacy policy. With a model running on your own computer, nothing goes out.
- What your Bots use. Websites they open, and services and accounts you connect (Telegram, email and others). They see that activity as they would if you used them yourself.
- Updates. When it starts, DeepBot asks this website whether there is a newer version, and GitHub if this website does not answer. The question carries its version, its operating system and whether it is the first check of the day on that computer (DeepBot remembers that date on your computer and sends only yes or no). We add one to a count for that day, version and system, so we know how many computers run DeepBot and which versions they use. We keep no IP address and no identifier with it, and nothing in it can be tied to you. Turning automatic updates off stops it.
- Apps. When you browse or install apps, DeepBot asks this website for the catalogue and the app's files. We count installs and updates of each app as numbers, and do not tie those requests to you.
How we use your data
To answer your messages, to run the app catalogue and show who made each app, to keep the website secure, and to know how many computers run DeepBot, on which versions, and how many times each app is installed, as counts only. Never for advertising, never sold, never shared beyond what is listed below.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply: answering you and running the catalogue you signed up to is needed to provide what you asked for; keeping the website safe, and counting downloads, update checks and app installs, are our legitimate interests. These counts hold no personal data: a number per day, with no IP address, identifier or cookie.
Who else processes your data
- The company that hosts this website, which may log technical details of requests (such as IP addresses) for security, kept briefly.
- Our email provider, which delivers contact messages to us.
- GitHub, for downloads and for developers who sign in with it.
How long we keep data
Contact messages: as long as needed to answer and follow up. Developer accounts and published apps: until you ask us to remove them. We delete what you ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to us through the contact form; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Security
The website uses HTTPS, admin access is protected, and we keep as little as possible: what we do not have cannot leak. On your computer, DeepBot encrypts the keys and passwords you save in it.
Children
DeepBot is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly hold data about them.
Changes
If this changes, we update this page and the date at the top. A change in what DeepBot sends from your computer will also be in the release notes.
